For the first time, a private institute has been established to study aging and cancer together, which is crucial to determining individual risks for cancer as we age and discover better preventive strategies and treatments. The Samuel Waxman Institute for Aging & Cancer, an affiliate of The Mark Foundation for Cancer Research, will address the significant funding gap in age-related cancer research and push this important area of study forward.

Advancing healthy longevity through discovery, collaboration, and partnerships to uncover why cancer risk rises with age. By uniting global experts, we will accelerate progress to turn insights into early preventions and better treatments.
We will target aging-driven cancer risk by creating predictive tools, restoring immune defenses, blocking and eradicating harmful cells, reducing inflammation, and developing treatments designed to improve patient outcomes in older adults.
Our grantees are leading scientists advancing aging and cancer research worldwide. Over the next three years, the we plan to allocate $15 million to support innovative, collaborative research grants with the potential for transformative impact.
